About Us

Koch Clinical Research is a community-based clinical research site dedicated to advancing medical research through innovative clinical trials. We provide patients access to investigational medicines, medical technologies, and other research opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on patient care, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Our small-team environment gives Clinical Research Coordinators the opportunity to be closely involved in all aspects of clinical trial execution and to see the direct impact of their work on patients and study performance.

Position Overview

Clinical Research Coordinators at Koch Clinical Research work directly with research participants throughout the clinical trial process while coordinating the operational and documentation requirements of assigned studies.

Responsibilities may include reviewing medical histories and medications, obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy and specimen processing, coordinating study visits, completing source documentation and electronic data entry, communicating with investigators and study sponsors, and helping ensure studies are conducted according to protocol and applicable regulatory requirements.

This role is well suited for an experienced CRC who enjoys patient interaction, takes ownership of assigned studies, pays close attention to details, and wants to understand how a successful clinical research site operates as a whole.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document medical histories, current medications, and other study-required information.

  • Administer study medications or perform other clinical procedures when permitted by applicable licensure, certification, training, and protocol requirements.
  • Identify and communicate relevant patient information to the investigator and study team.

Clinical Trial Coordination

  • Review study protocols and understand visit schedules, procedures, eligibility requirements, and study-specific expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete source documentation.
  • Enter and maintain study data in electronic data capture systems and respond to data queries as needed.
  • Track study visits, procedures, laboratory requirements, investigational product activities, and other protocol-related tasks.
  • Help ensure study activities are completed within required visit windows and timelines.
  • Maintain organized study and participant records in accordance with applicable regulatory and sponsor requirements.

Sponsor and Team Communication

  • Communicate professionally and promptly with investigators, sponsors, CROs, monitors, vendors, patients, and other members of the research team.
  • Assist with monitoring visits, sponsor requests, study updates, and follow-up items.
  • Escalate questions, protocol concerns, safety information, or operational issues appropriately.
  • Protect participant confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with other coordinators and team members to support overall site performance.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
  • Identify potential protocol deviations, documentation issues, or operational concerns before they become larger problems.
  • Participate in study-specific training and ongoing professional development.
  • Look for practical ways to improve patient flow, documentation, study coordination, and site efficiency.
  • Take increasing ownership of more complex responsibilities as experience and performance develop.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comfortably review medications, medical history, and health information with research participants.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple studies, visits, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team while also taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning electronic research systems.
  • Willingness to ask questions, seek clarification, and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Ability to work on-site in Morton, Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating clinical trials or performing similar responsibilities in a clinical research setting.
  • Experience with phlebotomy and specimen processing.
  • Experience independently coordinating interventional clinical trials.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems, source documentation, sponsor monitoring visits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multiple studies or managing complex visit schedules.
  • Healthcare licensure or certification is helpful but not required.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

This position is likely to be a strong fit for someone who:

  • Enjoys working directly with patients while also managing detailed research documentation and operational responsibilities.
  • Takes ownership of assigned studies and follows tasks through to completion.
  • Notices small details and understands why they matter in clinical research.
  • Is comfortable managing several priorities at the same time.
  • Communicates proactively rather than waiting for problems to escalate.
  • Enjoys learning how different parts of a clinical research site work together.
